I began working with Staged! in 2007 when I was cast as Captain Albert Lennox in a production of the musical The Secret Garden. I had spent the summer teaching musical theatre classes with artistic director/founder of Staged!, Chanda Hall.  We quickly discovered that we shared an aesthetic and an approach to creating theatre and I was hired to direct the all-student production of Les Miserables (ages nine to twenty) in 2008 - which was subsequently awarded two PAMTAs for Outstanding Young Peformer and Outstanding Ensemble. I was, once again, on the stage in November of 2010 as the role of the father in Violet.  In the spring of 2011 I directed Big River. This production marked the debut of our artistic mentorship program and was also honored with two PAMTAs. In the spring of 2012 I directed 13 which received four PAMTA nominations ,including one for Outstanding Direction, and was awarded a Drammy for Outstanding Pit Ensemble. Fall 2014 marked the fourth show I directed for Staged! Parade which was subsequently nominated for five PAMTAs, including Outstanding Direction, and a Drammy nomination.  The beautiful cast of Parade was ultimately honored with the award for Outstanding Ensemble from the PAMTA committee. Dogfight in the fall of 2015 earned four PAMTA nominations including Outstanding Direction. In the summer of 2018 I assumed the role of artistic director at Staged! and am grateful every day for the wonderful artists and people Staged! has brought into my life.
